What To Do With Leftover Pasta To Avoid Getting Wasted

One of life’s greatest pleasures is pasta. It is at its highest form when it is ready to be served, and as it leaves the hot pan and later on cooldowns, the hotness and freshness of its delicious flavors also leave. Even for just five minutes, a great-tasting pasta turns from great to good. So now, what to do with leftover pasta? Can you spark in some new life?

There are so many things you can do with leftover pasta. One of the key factors is being creative and imaginative in your own right. In this article, we will be transforming your dull and unappealing leftover pasta into a more enticing and rejuvenated one. So, buckle up your seat and prepare your notes as we engulf a sumptuous journey ahead.

Pasta Frittata Recipe

People have been looking for great alternatives on what to do with leftover pasta, partly to eat with leftover pasta with improved flavors, and for some to save money. For a while now, the pasta frittata is one of the simple ones, as it has to deal with eggs. So, to make things easier for you, the pasta frittata recipe is a great dish to serve with leftover pasta.

The pasta frittata is one of the most popular leftover pasta recipes. It’s one of those famous recipes you can normally do as the ingredients are just lying around the corner. To make pasta frittata, it only requires just a little bit of parmesan cheese, eggs, and some seasonings along with your pasta.

To do this, you only need to whisk your eggs and pour in your seasonings. After that, just incorporate your parmesan and pasta, and that would do the trick! In a nonstick skillet pan and medium heat, cook until the edges of your frittata are cooked and after a few minutes of cooking, place it in the oven. Bake the pasta frittata and give it a golden finish under the broiler.

Make A Pasta Noodle Sauté

Sometimes, heating your leftover pasta in a hot skillet is better than reheating it in the oven as it can provide better texture and flavors throughout. To do this, all you have to do is pour in your olive oil and a few seasonings to make your leftover pasta add a few flavors and texture.

Pour in your leftover pasta in a heated iron skillet pan on medium heat. In this process, the heated pan will soften up your pasta and add a little bit of crispiness on the edges, a better alternative than a microwave that only softens up the pasta. After heating your pasta noodle sauté, you can serve it up directly or add in a few toppings of your liking.

Leftover Pasta Fritters Recipe

An impressive way to turn your leftover pasta into something tastier is by turning it into pasta fritters. This leftover pasta fritters recipe is quick and easy; it can even be taught to your children at home.

Just be sure to guide them while they’re the ones making to oven any burn problems as you are dealing with extremely hot temperatures. The ingredients are basic and can be mostly found lying around the fridge. Here is the procedure on what to do with leftover pasta.

Ingredients:

  • Leftover pasta
  • 2 to 3 eggs
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • ¼ – ½ cup grated cheese
  • 2 – 3 tbsp of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Step 1: Get your scissors and slowly cut up your leftover pasta. Place it in a medium-sized mixing bowl.

Step 2: Now, add the eggs and other seasonings onto the mixing bowl and mix. Check whether the taste is achieved. If not, add a little bit of salt and pepper to get that added flavor.

Step 3: Using your hands, slowly form your mixture into small balls, then flatten it out with a spatula. If the form holds, it’s good, and if it’s not, then add a few bread crumbs.

Step 4: In a nonstick iron skillet, pour in your olive oil over medium heat.

Step 5: Get your scoop ready and scoop up medium-sized fritters and place it on the pan. Ensure that the entire form holds well to avoid getting deformed fritters. Repeat the steps until no pasta fritters mixture is left in the bowl.

Step 6: Cook each side of the pasta fritters for around 2 to 3 minutes or until it turns dark brown.

Step 7: Once cooking is done, pat dry to remove excess oil and place it on a serving plate.

Step 8: Serve it right out of the plate to experience its flavorful taste at its peak. If you want to garnish it, then proceed. One of the better toppings with this recipe is adding some grated parmesan cheese and a few bits of parsley for that mouthwatering goodness.

Important Notes:

  • This recipe is best used whenever your leftover pasta is left on the fridge overnight, and this is because leftover pasta tends to stick together when it dries up, making it good for holding the entire fritters once cooked.
  • You can choose the cheese that you like. It can be cheddar, mozzarella, or parmesan.
  • If your batter doesn’t hold well together and crumbles when cooked, add a few tablespoons of breadcrumbs to hold the entire batter when cooking.

Conclusion

Leftover pasta shouldn’t be left in the fridge until they look dull and unappetizing. Thankfully, there are so many ways on what do with leftover pasta. Keep in mind to use your creativity and imagination to do the trick with leftover pasta. Not only will it save you money, but it will always keep your tummy full in the process.

With these recipes in mind, you would know what to do with leftover pasta. It prevents having any leftovers in the fridge anymore. So take your baking skills to the next level and experiment with what is left of your leftover pizza. Find out more about pasta recipes here!
