How To Flip A Bundt Cake

Start the Baking Right

Grease the pan thoroughly using wax paper and sprinkle flour evenly on it and tap out excess flour. Use Quality Ingredients

Never settle with cheap ingredients. Quality ingredients matter when you make a Bundt cake. Because you will be using a lot of sugar, you must choose one that is not finely ground, which you can find in branded products in the supermarket. More finely ground sugar will result in more sugar per cup, making a cake fall as a result. As with butter, choose one that will not make the cake heavy. It shouldn’t have more liquid fat.

Avoid Opening the Oven Frequently

Check if the Bundt cake is already done only after the allotted baking time. Avoid opening the oven door frequently while baking is ongoing because heat will escape every time you check the cake, which would lengthen the bake time.

Don’t Forget to Cool it Off

Let the pan cool off on a rack for about 10 – 15 minutes after removing it from the oven. This technique will allow the cake to become firm and not break apart when it’s time to flip it. Be careful not to cool it longer than 15 minutes because then, the cake will stick to the Bundt cake pan.

Bundt Cake Flipping Technique

So, you’re done with the baking part, and you are so excited to see how your creation would look like. Hold on for a while before you proceed with the flipping of the Bundt cake. After the cake is made inside the oven, give it a little time to cool off. You have to let the cake cool off for about 10 minutes before you flip it. As the newly baked cake cools off, it will slowly release itself from the sides of the Bundt pan.

After getting the pan out from the oven, place it over a rack. After the required time for cooling, tap the Bundt cake pan and gently shake it. It will gradually release the cake. Then, capsize the pan onto the stand. Place your other hand on the cooling stand and slide your other hand under the pan. Flip it and remove the pan from the cake gently.

Steam the Cake

Steaming is a proven effective method that will successfully remove the cake on a Bundt pan. After removing the cake from the oven, grab a towel and place it in the sink. Boil some water on a separate pan and carefully pour it on the kitchen towel until it becomes moist. Be careful in handling hot water, and make sure it does not drip over. Use the towel to wrap the pan and let it stay for a while.

The steam will trigger the cake to detach from the pan. Once the pan has cooled and is safe enough to handle, you can set the towel aside and try to flip the Bundt pan to release the cake. Use a spatula instead of a knife to remove the Bundt cake from the sides of the pan. The sharp edges of a knife may damage or scratch the cake.

Give a Good Bang

Another effective option to release the cake is to give the Bundt pan a good bang. To do it, place a clean kitchen towel on your kitchen surface, capsize the pan and bang on the pan’s top and side parts. This technique works for most bakers. The cake usually gets out in one piece, well-defined, and without any damage.

Leave it to Gravity

If you are good at waiting patiently, the technique of waiting for gravity to take its course on your Bundt cake will be effective for you. Once done with the baking and letting the Bundt cake cool off for the recommended ten-minute time, invert the cake and let it sit for another ten minutes. Gravity will act on the cake and will cause it to contract and slide down.
